Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026 Controller: Ignite Web Studio Application: IgniteClean for macOS Website: igniteclean.ignite-web-studio.com Contact: igniteclean@ignite-web-studio.com
This Policy explains what information is (and is not) processed when you use IgniteClean and our Site. Our stance is simple and technically backed: the App works on your Mac, not on our servers.
The short version: IgniteClean does not collect, store or transmit your files or personal data. The App runs locally; its only internet connection is to check whether a new version exists, and that check sends no personal data. It has no accounts, no telemetry, and we don’t know what files you have or how you use the App.
1. Data controller
The controller responsible for the data described in this Policy is Ignite Web Studio. You can contact us any time at igniteclean@ignite-web-studio.com.
2. Principle: local processing
IgniteClean is designed to operate entirely on your device. Analysis, classification and deletion of files happen in real time within your Mac. The files the App analyzes or deletes never leave your device, are never uploaded to the cloud, and are never shared with us or third parties. We have no technical means to see them.
3. Data the App does NOT collect
To be explicit, the App does not collect:
- Your files, their content, their names or their paths.
- Personally identifiable data (name, email, address, etc.).
- Device identifiers, IP address or location.
- Usage statistics, events, crashes or any kind of telemetry.
- Passwords, histories or credentials.
We use no analytics, cookies, tracking pixels, advertising or third-party SDKs inside the App.
4. File access and system permissions
To scan and clean, macOS may ask you to grant permissions such as Full Disk Access or other folder access. It’s important you understand what this means:
- These permissions let the App read and delete files on your own device, based on what you tell it to do.
- The access is used only locally and in real time; nothing the App reads is transmitted, logged or stored outside your Mac.
- You can revoke these permissions at any time from System Settings › Privacy & Security in macOS.
5. Update checks
To let you know when a newer version exists, the App reads a small public file on our site (latest.json) that only contains the latest version number and the download link. This is the only internet connection the App makes. During this check:
- The App only reads that file; it sends no information about you, your device or your files.
- No accounts or identifiers are created. We don’t know who made the request.
- If you choose to download the update, our downloads page opens in your browser; from there the usual conditions of any web download apply.
6. The website
Our Site is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. We use no analytics or tracking cookies. However, as with any web hosting service, Cloudflare may automatically process basic technical data (such as your IP address, browser type and request logs) in order to deliver the Site and protect it from attacks and abuse. That processing is governed by Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We do not combine those logs with any other information or use them to profile you.
7. Donations (Stripe)
If you choose to make a voluntary donation, the payment is processed by Stripe, our payment provider. In that process:
- Stripe collects and processes the data needed to process the payment (for example, your card and transaction details).
- We do not see or store your card data. At most we may see limited transaction information (such as the amount and its status) for accounting purposes.
- The processing of your payment data is governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy: stripe.com/privacy.
8. When you contact us
If you contact us by email, we will process your email address and the content of your message for the sole purpose of replying and following up on your request. We will not use that data for marketing or share it, except where legally required.
9. Legal basis for processing
Where required by law (for example, for users in the European Union under the GDPR), the applicable legal bases are: your consent (when you contact us or donate), the performance of a relationship (processing your donation) and our legitimate interest in keeping the Site secure and operational.
10. International transfers
Providers such as Stripe and Cloudflare may process data on servers located outside your country, including the United States. These providers implement their own compliance mechanisms for international data transfers. By using the Site or donating, you understand that these third parties may process data in other jurisdictions.
11. Data retention
Because the App collects no data, there is nothing to retain from your use of it. As for the rest:
- The Site’s technical logs are retained by Cloudflare under its own policies.
- Donation data is retained by Stripe under its policies and applicable accounting obligations.
- Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.
12. Your rights
Depending on your country of residence, you may have the right to access, rectify, cancel or object to the processing of your data (ARCO rights in Mexico, under the LFPDPPP), as well as rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection (GDPR, for the European Union).
Since the App processes no personal data, these rights apply mainly to contact or donation data. To exercise them, write to us at igniteclean@ignite-web-studio.com. For payment data, you can also contact Stripe directly.
13. Security
We apply reasonable measures to protect the information we process. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. The App’s local design keeps risk to a minimum: because your files never leave your Mac, there is no server of ours that could be breached with your information.
14. Children
IgniteClean is not directed at minors and does not knowingly collect information from them. In fact, the App collects information from no one.
15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App, the law or our practices. The current version will always be the one published on this page, with its “Last updated” date.
